Art Store supports Parkinson’s research

The Art Store on Main Street in Stowe will donate 10 percent of customer purchases made between May 1 and July 31 to Parker’s Climb, a Mt. Kilimanjaro Expedition to raise awareness about Parkinson’s Disease and to support the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

The Parker family will begin climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, on July 4 to benefit Team Fox, a fundraising arm of the Michael J. Fox Foundation. The team hopes to reach the summit July 10, Geoffrey Parker’s 57th birthday.
Parker was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease more than five years ago, but he has found that fitness and activity have key roles in his daily management of the disease. 
All donations to Parker’s Climb will go to the cause. The Parker family is fully funding its Mt. Kilimanjaro climb.
