98 Days To Mt. Kilimanjaro – April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month

We all want a world without Parkinson’s. But we need your help in getting there. Whether it’s hosting your own local fundraiser or participating in the Parker’s Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro Expedition benefitting the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

In March of 2010, the US Senate designate the month of April as Parkinson’s Awareness month. This affirmed our government’s commitment towards funding valuable research in hopes of developing better treatments and ultimately a cure for a disease that claims a new victim every seven minutes! Yes, that is right, on average a person is diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease every seven minutes. That staggering figure is not going to shrink, it is only going to increase as the average age of Americans goes up.

In the month of April the Parker family will participate in the Parkinson’s Unity Walk in New York City. We hope our efforts can raise funds that benefit cutting-edge scientific research to find new treatments and a cure. Just spending a day in Central Park with many others who are devoting their lives to finding a cure will be fuel in our tanks for our upcoming Mt. Kilimanjaro climb.

Won’t you help us in our fight? Donate today directly to the Michael J. Fox Foundation by clicking the Team Fox button on our website. We cannot do this without you! pkp
