By Pamela, on April 8th, 2011% Geoffrey and I are in New York for the Team Fox Fifth Annual MVP Awards Dinner tonight. It is a great opportunity to meet other people from around the country whose goal is the same as ours – to raise funds for research to end Parkinson’s disease.
We walked from the Upper West Side of the city to Times Square today and the most amazing thing happened while we were out! More than 425 people logged into our blog and learned about Parker’s Climb and our Mt. Kilimanjaro Expedition For Parkinson’s Research! Parker’s Climb has come to life in New . . . → Read More: 86 Days To Mt. Kilimanjaro – Team Fox’s Fifth Annual MVP Awards
By Pamela, on April 5th, 2011% Geoffrey and I are always talking about the benefits of exercise, especially for those who are living with Parkinson’s disease or other health issues. Since starting to train for our Mt. Kilimanjaro climb in July, I have begun to work out and finally get it! Even for people without health concerns, you either use it or lose it!
Geoffrey was wise when he suggested I work with a trainer when I started training! I could never have pulled a training program off alone without professional help! Today, after nine months in the gym, I now can put together my own . . . → Read More: 89 Days To Mt. Kilimanjaro – Physical Training For Parkinson’s Disease
By Pamela, on April 4th, 2011% The clock keeps ticking and today we are officially 90 days away from our Mt. Kilimanjaro climb. It is just 3 months from the start of our quest, and we will take on the greatest physical challenge of our lives! Our nine month journey has been filled with a lot of emotion and a lot of hard work. It has been a time that I have filled my brain with PD research, it has been a time that I have poured my heart into this journey, and it has been a time that my hope for a cure has increased . . . → Read More: 90 Days To Mt. By Pamela, on March 26th, 2011% Tonight Geoffrey and I had the pleasure of attending the 10 Mountains, 10 Years documentary which premiered at the Palm Beach International Film Festival in Delray Beach, Florida. It was a vivid reminder as to what drives us beyond our comfort zone when we need to bring change to the world for others.
The first time I wrote for Parker’s Climb, as we officially launched our year long fundraiser, the title was 364 Days To Mt. Kilimanjaro – and that day seemed like it would be an eternity before our walking shoes would take their first steps on that . . . → Read More: 99 Days To Mt. By Pamela, on March 20th, 2011% Geoffrey and I waited in anticipation for the SuperMoon to appear on Saturday night. Geoffrey loves astronomy and is actually pretty well studied on the subject. That is not too surprising – Geoffrey is quite knowledgeable on many subjects – how he remembers all the things he has learned, I will never know. But his mind is like a steel trap – it just retains facts! Our good friend Wayne calls Geoffrey a walking encyclopedia! And the term really does fit him well!
