It has been a very long time since I sat down to write for Parker’s Climb. I have not been here since posting our Mt. Kilimanjaro summit photos; but Parker’s Climb is still a part of my soul! 21 Days To Mt. Kilimanjaro – Time For A Little Altitude Adjustment

On an annual basis, approximately 25,000 people climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. This number is down from past years when as many as 40,000 people tried to summit the 4th highest mountain in the world, and the highest mountain on the African continent.

Due to the down trend in the economy that started around 2007, less people have splurged for a trip to Tanzania, East Africa. Like everything else, the overall experience has gotten more expensive, therefore for many, this bucket list item has gotten shifted to the bottom of the list, being replaced by adventures closer to home.
